Sacramental Preparation

Pre-Baptism Classes

Pre-Baptism classes are offered for new parents to prepare them for the commitment they will make at the baptism of their child.

Godparents, grandparents, and family members interested in learning more about the sacrament are also welcome.

Classes are periodically held from 6:00pm to 8:00pm in the Gathering Area. Check the parish calendar for future dates.

First Communion

First Eucharist preparation for those children in the 2nd grade begins in the fall of each year. Children are required to attend Youth Faith Formation (PSR) classes each week, in addition to special gatherings throughout the year related to the sacraments of Reconciliation and Eucharist.

Special sessions are held for those who are 7 years old and older, including adults, who are seeking to receive their First Communion.

Confirmation

Confirmation will be held at Divine Word

R.C.I.A

Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults

The R.C.I.A. process leads adults (and children over the age of 7) to full membership in the Catholic Church.

At Divine Word, this process is customized based on the needs of each individual. If you are interested in becoming Catholic, please contact the Parish Office at (440)256-1412.

Inquirers under the age of 16 or adults who seek only Confirmation should contact the Parish Office.
