Spiritual Direction:

MISSION:
To provide spiritual accompaniment to those who seek to deepen their relationship with God, typically through individual sessions with a certified spiritual director.
ABOUT THE MINISTRY:
Spiritual Direction is offered as a parish ministry at Divine Word for anyone who is seeking to increase their awareness of the active presence of God in their lives. It is primarily a ministry of holy listening in which the spiritual director attends to the directee’s experiences of daily life with an interest in helping the directee to appreciate how God is reaching out to him or her.
Sessions are typically held monthly, but agreement may be reached for a different frequency. Recommendations for prayer, Scripture reading, and other spiritual reading may be given by the director to foster discussion around the unique relationship between God and the directee. In recognizing that each and every person is cherished by God, the director strives to accompany the directee on his or her journey of deepening their own relationship with their Creator.
Some questions that may be helpful to consider when talking to a Spiritual Director include:
- Where am I seeing God in my life right now?
- How is God working in my life?
- What am I doing to nourish my faith/prayer life?
- What part of my spiritual life needs strengthening?

HOW TO PROCEED IN FINDING A SPIRITUAL DIRECTOR AT OUR CHURCH:
- Complete the Spiritual Director Request Form by clicking on this link: https://forms.gle/92QRPcTpQTDogB2L8
- Based on your information, we will prayerfully discern the best fit for you with a spiritual director from Divine Word.
- The spiritual director will contact you to arrange for an initial interview. If after the interview you or the director do not believe it to be a good fit, you can request that another director be selected and you would repeat the process of the first interview.
- If the first interview is comfortable and you believe you would like to proceed, you and the director will determine the first spiritual direction meeting.
